Why I Started Hello Salt and Linen

They told me I'd never drive again.

After my car accidents, the traumatic brain injuries, and the surgeries, I was told I'd never be better than 75%.

I heard them. And then I decided I had my own opinion of myself.

Here's something I've never shared: a year before Hello Salt and Linen, I started building a website. And I let it fail. Not because the idea was wrong, but because I didn't believe in myself enough to keep going.

This time, I chose me.

My grandparents always said, "Mind over matter." I didn't really understand it until I had to live it. Every morning you get to decide what you believe about yourself.

Why Hello Salt and Linen exists

It's not just linen. It's for the woman who wakes up to noise and needs and everyone wanting something from her. The one who worries about being judged. The one who rarely stops to choose herself.

When you put on something that feels good and looks good, something shifts. You stand a little taller and carry yourself differently. That quiet "I just did that for me" feeling.

You don't need anyone's applause.
You're allowed to choose yourself.
You're worth it. I know, because I finally believe I am too.

With love,
Jessica 🤍
